The Duke Endowment awards grant to Greenville Hospital System for expansion PASOs Promotores Program

A $350,000 grant from The Duke Endowment to the Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center will fund the PASOs Program to improve the health of Latino women and their children across South Carolina.
The grant from The Duke Endowment will focus on prevention through the training of Latino community health leaders who will provide culturally appropriate health messages to Latina women and families. PASOs health leaders also will assist their peers in navigating the complex U.S. healthcare system and in understanding the changes brought about by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
Margarita Franco, Director of Community Leadership Development, will lead the Promotores Project expansion
Lucy Willms, Director of Training and Evaluation will support staff development and project evaluation.
