First Health Fair of the year in Midlands


 The Latino community had the opportunity to receive health services as well as information about available health-related resources in the community. PASOs is pleased to say around 120 people attended the health fair. Thank you to the following organizations for providing services to the Latino community:

  • Acercamiento Hispano provided cholesterol, diabetes, and HIV testing.
  • The Good Samaritan Clinic provided blood pressure, hemoglobin and glucose testing.
  • Hearing and Speech Research Center, USC provided both hearing and speech testing.
  • Safe Kids checked and donated car seats to families who needed them, ensuring children could travel safely.
  • Kids First Dental provided dental checkups and information about dental care for adults and children.
  • Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Futures provided dental checkups to children under 12 years old.
  • DHEC Lexington provided flu shots and the vaccine for DPT.
  • Palmetto Health provided diabetes, BMI and blood pressure testing, as well as prostate screenings.
  • Pinilla Law Firm provided Legal counseling
  • SC Dept. of Natural Resources, provided activities for the children, as well as information about outdoor programs available to the families.
  • Morgan Guzman, provided notarization of documents.
  • PASOs signed up families for Medicaid, SNAP, and WIC, provided information about services available to the community, as well as provided infant cribs and folic acid vitamins to women of reproductive age. Information about the prevention of the Zika virus was also provided.
