PASOs

The PASOs Prenatal Health Program in Richland and Lexington Programs was the original PASOs site that began in 2005 with a community grant from the March of Dimes at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital. It now works together with the Puentes Project, a leadership development project of PASOs and is part of the Arnold School of Public Health at USC.

PASOs Prenatal Classes

PASOs offers a prenatal education course in Spanish using a curriculum that is based on Latino cultural values. The course consists of a total of fourteen hours of sharing and discussion. Each session provides information and resources on a range of maternal and child health topics.

Currently, classes are being offered every Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM alternating every month between the two counties. They are also being offered every third month on Saturdays.

In Lexington County, classes are offered at:
Cristo Rey Lutheran Church
132 Saint David’s Church Road
West Columbia, SC 29170.

Saturday classes are offered when necessary. Upon completion of the course, graduates receive a certificate of completion, a car seat, and a gift bag containing baby clothes and other items.
