Local PASOs Program

The PASOs Prenatal Health Program in Saluda County began in 2009 through a partnership with South Carolina Hispanic Outreach and their funding partner, the South Carolina Chapter of the March of Dimes. The program soon expanded to Newberry and Edgefield Counties during the summer of 2010.

PASOs offers a prenatal education course in Spanish using a curriculum that is based on Latino cultural values. The course consists of a total of fourteen hours of sharing and discussion. Each session provides information and resources on a range of maternal and child health topics.

PASOs conducts regular community outreach events in Beaufort and Jasper counties, in collaboration with different organizations. If you would like to attend or schedule an event, contact Ana at 803-419-5112 or email:anacossio.scho@gmail.com.

PASOs offers individual support and connection to resources for Latino families.

PASOs is training a team of community health educators, or promotores, in Saluda and Newberry Counties. These leaders will work within their communities to educate about maternal and child health and connect others to health and education services.
